Assessment, Disclosure, Release, scheduling, and Payment
Are you ready to be responsible for your own healing from trauma, or any PTSD? Are you ready and willing to not to be just a survivor? Can you commit to moving on with wellness in the embodied unity of the emotions, intellect, body, consciousness, social relationships, and environment? Are you ready to invest in your own healing?
If so, that’s great! Because it’s work. Not a life time of it though. Dr. Peter Levine says,. “Trauma isn’t a life sentence.” He’s right. I didn’t have a lifetime to commit to healing. My position in 2013 was, either my trauma was over, or I was. And here I am.
If you’re ready to be empowered to heal your trauma, ready to commit, and follow up with consistent imperfect action, then take the following assessments by clicking the button below
You’re back!
That’s great! If however, you skipped that step, the rest won’t have much meaning for you.
What the numbers mean
The Holmes & Rahe test is an old one, but even back in 1968 they understood that high levels of stress meant a higher probability of getting a physical illness or disease. A couple things to note about the H&R test. One is that is a snapshot. The next time you take it, it could be higher or lower. You might have a high score one year like I did, and a lower score for a couple years, and then it might go up again. Like mine did. Two, the H&R test does not have anything connected to adverse childhood experiences. Either they were unaware of it, or simply chose not to open that Pandora’s box. The higher the number, the higher the risk.
The ACE test is about those adverse childhood experiences that Holmes & Rahe didn’t mention. It’s easy to get the picture from the test that verbal abuse, drinking, drugs, jail, physical abuse, and sexual abuse is the type of family life you lived with. That is an inaccurate image. Some posit that neglect might be more harmful than abuse, and two of the questions deal with it, but only two. The point is to not fixate on the image the questions might foster. As you might have seen from the ACEs Too High page, they again indicate that the higher the score, “The higher your ACE score, the higher your risk of health and social problems.” Also, the higher the probability of developmental trauma, and for a good idea on how that works, I recommend reading, In the Realm of the Hungry Ghosts, by Gabor Maté. He explains his developmental trauma despite having two loving parents, and the resultant addiction he developed. That could be followed by Lawrence Heller’s, Healing developmental Trauma. Even an ACE score of 1 can lead to trauma, so consider that possibility if you need to.
DISCLOSURE
Natural tremoring and TRE are members of a new-ish class of treatment techniques and protocols referred to as body-based (somatic) therapy. Somatic means it comes from inside the body innately, rather than externally applied. While still considered experimental for the last 20 years, these techniques are being used by therapists, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists, and lay people worldwide. There are theories about how they work, why they work, and why they sometimes don’t work, but there is no accepted scientific explanation.
To date, natural tremoring and TRE have yielded exceptional results in the treatment of psychological and physical problems, but no one can know with certainty whether it will help a specific individual or address a specific problem.
Neither natural tremoring nor TRE are meant to replace appropriate medical treatment or mental health counseling.
As with any exercise program, please consult your physician before starting a natural tremoring practice. If your physician has approved basic physical exercise, you can safely begin.
It is acknowledged that Leckey Harrison is not a licensed medical professional, and is a thoroughly certified TRE Provider. Please ask if you have questions about what that training is to become a TRE provider if you need or want to.
Signing the waiver and intake form means you have read the waiver (here) and downloaded a copy for yourself.
terms and conditions
This contract service terms and conditions (Agreement) is effective per date above by Raise Your Resilience, LLC, (RYR). Please read the agreement carefully and ensure that you understand and agree to it before signing the assessment and making your first payment. If you have any questions, please contact us at leckey@RaiseYourResilience.com.
The service that RYR provides in the course and program is a guided trauma healing experience made up of four (4) weekly sessions per month (variable as life dictates), consisting of 6 different modules that cover a spectrum of human experience. Homework to some degree is required in some of the modules. Clients are expected to complete the work to obtain the best results, and failure to do so rests with the client and the results will be sub-optimal.
Session timings are based on the first payment, and agreement between the provider and client as to day and time within the provider's available time. Service subject to delays like power outages, natural disasters, and life interruptions on the clients and/or providers part. If sessions go beyond the year mark, that is based on agreement between RYR and the client. As they say, “Shyt happens,” yes?
Client will be responsible for providing the space in which to do the sessions, the privacy necessary, and the technical means to conduct the session, including hardware and software; and any comforting devices as the client deems necessary for the session. RYR will provide Mixed Emotions cards for the second Module. If unforeseen materials are required, RYR will inform the client, who may or may not deny additional purchases.
If the client requests additional services, or modifications outside of the Agreement, they do so at their own expense and if the modification can be made by the provider. All changes need to be approved by the local provider and RYR, and paid for by the client. The service provider and/or RYR may also propose necessary changes due to unexpected issues, which the client must approve in writing.
Warranties and guaranties: All sessions will be performed professionally and to industry standards. Any issues arising within 6 months of the completion date (session 48) will be addressed b y the service provider at no additional cost, provided they are not due to improper use or lack of maintenance by the client.
Client responsibilities and safety: Safety is first and foremost, the clients responsibility in regards to session environment. If there is an emergency, call the appropriate authorities. Otherwise an environment that they can complete the session in comfortably and safely is the client’s responsibility.
Homework to some degree is required in some of the modules. Clients are expected to complete the work to obtain the best results, and failure to do so rests with the client and the results will be sub-optimal.
Client is responsible to not be consuming drugs or alcohol before or during sessions. Also, any other modality work might be advised to be discontinued, as to its effect on the client’s nervous system. Results from the tremoring can be more accurately tracked under conditions where client and provider both know the baseline condition of the nervous system.
DO NOT discontinue officially prescribed medications for any officially diagnosed conditions, unless agreed upon by the attending physicians. Tremoring plays pretty well with others in most cases.
Constant belligerence will not be tolerated. Nor will insults, or demeaning behavior on the part of the client. If the provider has behaved that way, complaints can be made to leckey@RaiseYourResilience.com. A detailed report including the behavior and/or language used and the date on which it occurred must be included in the complaint.
Failure to adhere to these conditions may result in the provider terminating the Agreement without recourse or refund.
